Abby Underwood is the Serendipity’s Marketing and Events Intern.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

The knowledge I have gained during my internship here tops any job I’ve had or anything I’ve learned in school, to be completely honest. I am so grateful for that, and it’s given me the confidence I need to start my career, wherever that may be!

Shout-out to the amazing team of women at Serendipity Media. Being an intern can be intimidating, but they have created such a positive and comfortable work environment that I always look forward to being around.

What do you love most about working with Serendipity Media clients?
Since I mainly work on West Michigan Woman, my favorite thing is being a part of all the inspiring events and hearing so many stories of really influential women in our community. I have met some really amazing people that help make these events possible.

What are your top three tips for businesses and companies?

• Take risks! Be innovative and change things up.
• Company culture is everything, so take the steps that are necessary to make it great.
• Hire interns. We have lots of ideas. 😜

In a game of truth or dare, which are you more likely to pick and why?
Truth. Only because I’m lazy and doing a dare usually involves getting up.

What’s your go-to drink? 
Currently, my favorite is an Aperol Spritz. It’s really light and low in alcohol content, so it’s perfect for day drinking in the summer. My go-to drinks year-round are a Sauvignon Blanc or a spicy margarita. 

It’s the weekend! What are you typically doing on a Friday night? 
On a Friday night, you’ll probably find me out for dinner and drinks or having a lowkey night at home with my boyfriend and our Pug. Now that it’s really starting to warm up, we’ll spend a lot of time at our house on the lake or going north to our hometown, Traverse City, to visit friends and family. My weekends are really never the same!
